Correction: An integration of complementary strategies for gene-expression analysis to reveal novel therapeutic opportunities for breast cancer

چکیده
Figure 4 involved the analysis of chemotherapy-response signatures (as carried out independently by author AP and described in a 2006 Nature Medicine article [2,3]). It has recently been determined that the chemotherapy-response signatures in [2] are not reproducible, causing retraction of that article [3]. As such, the results presented in Figure 4 of our original paper [1] are no longer valid. We believe that the data presented in Figures 1-3 of our article remain valid. However, as Figure 4 can no longer be considered valid, portions of [1] are no longer applicable, including the Materials and Methods section entitled " Chemosensitivity signatures " , the Results section entitled " Genomic signatures that predict response to cytotoxic chemotherapeutics " , and other statements in the Abstract, Introduction, Results, Discussion, and Conclusions sections that refer directly or indirectly to the integration of chemotherapy-response signatures into the analytical approach presented in the manuscript. As such, the focus of the manuscript on the utility of an integrated approach using three complementary strate gies for gene expression analysis (i.e. breast cancer intrinsic subtype analysis, pathway prediction and chemo therapy-response signatures) should now be interpreted as referring exclusively to the integration of two comple-men tary strategies. Competing interests The authors declare that they have no competing interests. An integration of complementary strategies for gene-expression analysis to reveal novel therapeutic opportunities for breast cancer. complementary strategies for gene-expression analysis to reveal novel therapeutic opportunities for breast cancer.

Bioinformatics-Based Prediction of FUT8 as a Therapeutic Target in Estrogen Receptor-Positive Breast Cancer
Abstract Introduction: Estrogen receptor-positive (ER-positive) breast cancer is a subgroup of breast tumors that is more likely to respond to hormone therapy. ER-positive and ER- negative breast cancers tend to show different patterns of metastasis because of different signaling cascade and genes that are activated by estrogen response. Genetic factors can contribute to high rates of metastas...

متن کاملIdentification of Prognostic Genes in Her2-enriched Breast Cancer by Gene Co-Expression Net-work Analysis
Introduction: HER2-enriched subtype of breast cancer has a worse prognosis than luminal subtypes. Recently, the discovery of targeted therapies in other groups of breast cancer has increased patient survival. The aim of this study was to identify genes that affect the overall survival of this group of patients based on a systems biology approach. Methods: Gene expression data and clinical infor...
متن کاملZFX Overexpression in Breast Cancer Positively Correlates with Metastasis
Background: As the third most frequent cause of cancer death, breast cancer is a common disease worldwide. Most of the patients are being diagnosed in the stage that conventional treatments are not effective, and invasion and metastases lead to death. Therefore, identification of novel molecular markers to improve early diagnosis, prognosis and treatment of the breast cancer is a necessity. Zin...
